Bettina Schaden, Violinist
Education

Bettina Schaden
Growing up in Brazil, Bettina began playing the violin at the age of four. Over the next ten years, she attended the Music School of Brasília, where her main violin teacher was Ludmila Vinecka. She also studied music theory and history, and participated in both the symphony and the string chamber orchestra. At the school’s annual violin competitions, she obtained three first prizes and a young talent award.
Bettina continued taking lessons with Ms. Vinecka through the University of Brasília extension program.
Festivals and Performance
Attending music festivals in Europe, including the Music School of Brasília Summer Festival and the Londrina Music Festival, Bettina has studied with a number of excellent European and American teachers.
In the U.S. since 1998, Bettina has participated in the Killington and Aspen Music Festivals, and obtained prizes in the Missouri State ASTA solo competition and the Regional MTNA chamber music competition. She also traveled to Europe for the Weimar Masterclasses in Germany, and the Pablo Casals Chamber Music Festival in France.
During her undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri, Bettina was enchanted by the viola during a mandatory semester of that instrument. She continued studying viola with Leslie Perna and also led the Chamber Soloists, a student-run chamber orchestra that performed throughout the state.
Bettina performs as a freelance violinist and violist in the Denver area.
