Stacy Lesartre attended the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia, where she studied violin with Lynn Mather. She has a Bachelor of Music Performance from Temple University.

At Temple, Stacy studied solo repertoire and chamber music with Helen Kwalwasser and orchestral excerpts with Luis Biava. During a season as member of the Puerto Rico Symphony, she studied solo and orchestral repertoire with Saul Ovcharov. As a member of the Houston Symphony, she received coaching from Raphael Fliegel, and studied solo repertoire with Fredell Lack. She has also studied with Harold Wippler in Denver and Burton Kaplan at Magic Mountain Music Farm.

Performance

Stacy Lesartre is a frequent soloist and chamber musician throughout the Rocky Mountain region. She has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and was a member of, and soloist with, the Houston Symphony.

Stacy has performed with Leonard Bernstein, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Michael Tippet, Dylana Jensen, Stephanie Chase, Michael Morgan and Ravi Shankar. She is currently concertmaster of the Cheyenne Symphony, the Fort Collins Symphony and the Larimer Chorale Orchestra. She plays regularly with Strings In The Mountains in Steamboat Springs. She has recorded at Skywalker Ranch for Warner Brothers Records.

A finalist for the concertmaster positions of the Colorado Symphony and the Colorado Springs Symphony, Stacy has been selected as an active participant at workshops for the concertmasters of the Cleveland Orchestra and Boston Symphony. A prolific chamber musician, she is performing a Beethoven string quartet cycle.

Teaching

Stacy has taught violin students, chamber music and orchestral excerpts in Houston and Ft. Collins. Her students have become professional musicians, teachers and competition winners. They have been accepted as music majors at the Eastman School of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory, Peabody Conservatory, Cleveland Institute, The University of Texas, The University of Houston, the Lamont School of Music and the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Stacy Lesartre lives in Fort Collins with her husband, Gregg, a technical contributor for Hewlett-Packard, and their two sons, Andre and Michael. They enjoy skiing in the winter and organic gardening in the summer.
